I had the opportunity to get resourceful this week. Coronavirus supply chain issues can make grocery shopping a challenge, but it can also spark creativity and innovation…unnecessary big words.
Anyway, a clients recipe required dried mint and I couldn’t find it anywhere…tried 3 grocery stores! This client is on a special diet, SCD, requiring clean spices meaning no preservatives, stabilizers, etc., making the search even more challenging. So, I dried the mint myself! It was the perfect solution, fast and flavorful! Here’s hat I did…
How To Dry Fresh Mint
Ingredients
- Fresh mint – I used 1 “package” which dried down to about 2 tablespoons.
Directions
- Remove leaves from several stems of fresh mint.
- Rinse and pat dry.
- Microwave uncovered on a paper towel for 2-3 minutes or until cried but not burnt.
- Crumble and use immediately or store in an airtight continue until ready to use.
