Douceur de France French Toast

Restaurant Review: Douceur de France in Roswell

My inner French Chef has been inspired!

Douceur de France French ToastI enjoyed brunch this morning at Douceur de France in Roswell, GA.  Although I’ve stopped in for sweet treats, chocolate almond croissants specifically, from time to time, this was my first actual meal at this quaint French café.

The menu at Douceur de France is primarily French and American fare with a French twist.  My guests and I decided to go traditional and ordered various Crepes’s including strawberry, Nutella and strawberry/chocolate ganache along with a Gratin Dauphinois.  That said, one guest ventured into what actually isn’t French fare and ordered French Toast.

The Crepe’s were perfect – warm, sweet and appropriately savory.  In between bites we enjoyed the piping hot Gratin Dauphinios, a rich potato casserole made with heavy cream, Swiss cheese and a pinch of nutmeg.  The French Toast was made with brioche dipped in crème brulee batter and topped with strawberries, bananas and homemade whipped cream.    All I can say is that I’ll be back!!!

I saw several menu items that have inspired me to create French offerings for my clients.  If you’ve got a favorite French recipe you’d like to share, send it my way and I’ll post it!

Douceur de France is open Monday through Saturday for breakfast and lunch and has locations in Roswell and Marietta.   See their web site for directions, menus and specials.
